Johann Johannson - The Origins of Time

I'll admit, I haven't watched the film yet, but the soundtrack is one of the most beautiful things I have ever listened to.

Trevor Morris - The Dawn Will Come

Danny Elfman - Ice Dance

This movie is my favourite, this composer is my favourite, and this song will probably always be the most beautiful piece I have ever heard.

Blue Suede - Hooked On A Feeling

Another one from Awesome Mix Vol. 1. I've had this stuck in my head ever since my husband sneezed the other night. ;)

The Ends of the Earth - Brian Tyler - Assassin's Creed Black Flag

This one is a day early, seeing as how I am off out adventuring tomorrow and I'm not sure when or even if I'll have much opportunity to post it so rather than being late I am early for once!!

I've been thinking about the ending to my book this week, trying to figure out how to tie up the loose ends it still has, how to bring a certain amount of closure but also leave it at a point where there are still questions people want answered in the coming sequels. This this of music in particular has the kind of feel that I've got in my mind for the final chapters, it has the atmosphere that I want.

Julie Fowlis - Touch the Sky

First Song of the Week for 2015. This one is from the soundtrack for Brave. It's one of those that I listen to when I feel the need to take a break and feel free from all the burdens around me.

Mass Effect - An End, Once And For All

Song of the Week, AND Song of the Year number two!

I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by. It's been jam packed with goings on too! Again, I had to think long and hard about this one. I've been pondering it over for a couple of months now. Today I decided on this one. This year I've been listening to a lot of soundtracks. That's one of the reasons for this as the Song of the Year for 2014. Another is that this is simply a beautiful piece of music and it never fails to invoke amazing and pure emotions in me. The other reason is that this year has been full of endings. A lot of things have "ended, once and for all." Sometimes it has been the best thing that could have happened. Other times it has been frustrating, devastating and heart breaking. I feel that this particular piece sums it all up in one. All of the rises and the falls, and the swell at the end in preparation for the end of this year and the beginning of the next.

Rise Against - Making Christmas

My fiancé and I put this album on at the beginning of the week and quite frankly it has been in my head ever since. With thanks in no small part to him, the bugger. ;)

Panic! At the Disco - Mercenary

Aaaaaaand, this week has been a Panic! week. I really need to get their new album...

Far Away - Junip

I really want to travel. This song fuels that need, and so does the film that it was made for.

Ed Sheeran - I See Fire

This is the first Ed Sheeran song that I've actually listened and paid attention to, and I have to say that he's a pretty talented man.

I've been going through a tough time with the family, and this song has been keeping me going. It hasn't been stopping the depression, but it has been helping it. So that's a positive.

Frozen - Love is an Open Door

Still love this film. This is my favourite song.
I wish that love was like an open door.

Frozen - Let It Go

I watched Frozen on Thursday. I know, I know, I'm SUUUUPEERRR late to the party, shut up...
BUT. This is the most beautiful sequence in the entire film and I like it so much it hits me in the heart places and makes me cry when I watch it. So it's my Song of the Week.
However, next week, once I've watched the film a couple more times, will more than probably be my favourite song from the film. So you have that to look forward to!
